Matt Damon’s homes around the world revealed

Matt Damon, the actor known for roles involving long journeys home, has assembled a real estate collection across both U.S. coasts. Though he mainly resides in New York, his holdings include a historic Brooklyn penthouse, a waterfront Miami estate, and a secluded Westchester retreat.

Brooklyn’s most expensive home

In late 2018, Damon bought a 6,200-square-foot penthouse triplex in Brooklyn Heights’ The Standish for $16.745 million. The purchase broke the borough’s price record at the time. The Beaux-Arts structure, built in 1903 as the Standish Arms Hotel, has appeared in Superman and Death of a Salesman.

When Damon moved in during 2020, the street closed temporarily to allow a 14-story crane to deliver furniture and trees to his terrace. Other residents of the building include Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, along with Adam Driver, who later sold his unit.

A Miami Beach compound and a Pacific Palisades mansion

In 2005, Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, acquired a 12,000-square-foot Miami Beach estate for $14.5 million. The property spanned two lots with 170 feet of Biscayne Bay frontage, featuring a main house, guesthouse, movie theater, wine cellar, and rooftop terrace. They sold it in 2014 for $15.4 million.

The couple also owned a 13,500-square-foot Pacific Palisades mansion from 2012 to 2021. The $15 million home included mahogany floors, a 35-foot atrium, a koi pond, and a Hawaiian-style lanai. Damon listed it in 2021 for $21 million but accepted $18 million.

For him, these properties marked distinct life phases. The Miami estate served as a newlywed haven, while the Pacific Palisades house became a West Coast base during his children’s early years. With his daughters now aged 15 to 27, his focus has turned to spaces that support family gatherings.

A Westchester County retreat

In 2022, Damon purchased a 7,200-square-foot Colonial-style home in Bedford, New York, for $8.5 million. The 2004-built dwelling features four bedrooms and five-and-a-half baths, with a primary suite that includes a gym, coffee bar, and private porch. Common areas include a fireplace-warmed living room, a study with a wet bar, and a family room with another fireplace.

The actor’s property selections reveal a consistent preference for privacy and room to spread out, whether in Brooklyn’s urban core or Westchester’s quiet countryside. After years of portraying characters longing for home, Damon appears to have created his own version—just with more space than most.
